There has been misleading coverage surrounding the proposed Health Resource Center (HRC) at Reading High School. To clarify, a HRC:

A Health Resource Center does not promote any life choice other than healthy behavior. For many students, the HRC becomes a haven where they can get help and support for any concern in a caring and non-judgmental environment.The HRC helps to link students with school and community resources to meet their needs.
The HRC would support BTM’s mission and our goal to reduce teen pregnancy in Berks County by 40% by 2022. Please join us on Wednesday, June 28 at 6pm at the Reading School District Board Meeting, 800 Washington St, Reading PA. City residents may give 3-minute remarks in support of the HRC, non-city residents are encouraged to come in support.

A Health Resource Center would be positive addition to any school, especially my alma mater. Any chance to help students make wiser decisions about their mental, physical or emotional health should be welcomed in an educational environment. Students need these types of services and need trusted guidance, which they would get at the proposed Health Resource Center.
Ithink it`s a very good idea to have that kind of center in the schools,that would help te youth a lot to take care of their future,I completely agree with the center.

And in the next school board meeting we REading school district parents Need to stand up for the center. We need to stand up against the manifestation of people Not from our district simply because THEy don’t like the Non profit org. Chosen to run the center.
The school board needs to do what is best for its students. This center will help prevent teen pregnancies and STDs, which will let more students graduate and keep them healthy!
